Misfit Garage - Fired Up Garage Real or Fake

Gas Monkey Garage,
Misfit Garage - Fired Up Garage

Real or Fake?

This article started because i was researching wether or not the Misfit Garage tv show staring Fired Up Garage, was real or not. and this lead me to thinking, is Gas Monkey real? well all i can say is, Gas Monkey is real.. now..

Anyway,

This started by me and an associate were watching a couple of episodes of the Misfit's and was thinking, why does Richard Rawlings keep popping up on the show, if I was Tom, I'd be like, "Bro would you fuck off were filming." but sadly not, they entertain him, and then I start thinking I never really see any of the guys at Misfit Garage on Gas Monkey's show.

So I ended up going down the rabbit whole, and before I've come back I started writing this.

So being from the UK, not knowing much about how the US Corporation system works, I started digging there, I found out that companies have to register to the secretary of state for tax, I then searched the Secretary of State for Texas and found the following website.

Where I proceeded to search!, so natually, I am looking at Gas Monkey first, can i find the big guy, and yes! I did. Aside from knowing from the show about the other divisions of Gas Monkey, i.e. Gas Monkey Energy, Gas Monkey Bar(Do you not own this one Richard?), Gas Monkey Spirits, Gas Monkey Racing, ah you get the idea, There they are on this website, showing me all the information I really needed, It's real, its there, they're a real business.

At this point I'm thinking about looking up "Fired Up Garage" so I reset the search typed in "Fired Up" at this point I'm laughing to myself thinking I'm going to find it and its going to have Richards name on it. so I click search and I find.. nothing, that's right, no Fired Up Garage, so I'm thinking they should be there, they've been running how long? they've made how much? surely they must have paid some tax on something.

So now, I turn to google earth, and this is where it gets interesting. the first thing i see is the front of the garage, its closed. gates locked, no sign of anyone, thinking OK, google went down the road at a weekend... no I don't think so looking up and down the road other business' are open. going back to the gate, there's a huge red sign there, saying "Closed Set - Do Not Enter" WHAT!? closed set? never mind we move on... to the security screens on the gate, some may say i could be a little paranoid but i think that's to stop people stopping a gawping. (see the blank white sign on the fence in the image above, keep an eye on that.)

So then I started using the timeline feature, great utility IMHO, I went back to the beginning originally and found a really shit image, check this.

Anyway that company there is called Phipps Automotive. They had some of the best reputation in Dallas as being the best mechanics, here's another image a few years later, alot clearer. (no white sign though?)

Now the next image from the time line is less than a year later.

So less than a year later and its now Fired Up Garage, parking lot is empty, gates closed, "closed set" sign is there, and oh, whats that white sign? Phipps Automotive? ah right ok, maybe it was put up before Fired Up took over? yeah thats it... or is it...

Wait a god damn minute! where did these cars go, and when did they come back? as you can see in the previous screenshot the car park was empty! something smells fishy.

Next I went to the Misfit Garage Facebook page, here:

https://www.facebook.com/misfitgaragedallastx/

On this page as you can see in the screenshot bellow their not labelled as a garage/service, their labelled as apparel, fair enough it is the name of the show. but there is a link to their website.

http://www.misfitgaragedallastexas.com/

Great lets have a ganders, error name not resolved, what? they have a domain but it's not pointed anywhere, so doing a whois trace, it expired 3 months ago, great, can i buy it, yes! £6,99 sweet. so I bought it. as soon as I can be bothered I will cname it there.

So after finding this, and buying their name, I thought I would check on Fired Up Garage, the business name, and I found their Facebook page linked bellow, with the complimentary screenshot. as you can see on thier facebook page, they are labelling themselves as a TV Programme and not a garage, because their not, they are being honest. anyway, there's a link on there to their website. but it doesn't take you to their website, nope, it takes you to... GAS MONKEY! the links after the screenshot.

I for one beleive that Fired Up Garage is fake, its staff are fake, i think this is a rouse, a publicity stunt, and tbh god damn good business thinking from Richard, not only has he created fake competition, he's showing people Gas Monkey can "do it better", he is also earning from another tv series, and when he "had" to fire Tom and the guys, he didn't he moved them out of the way.

Anyway this was for entertainment purposes only so heres some of Phipps Automotive.
